Plastic lenses- Lightweight.  A scratch resistant coating is necessary to help prevent scratching. 

Hi-Index- Reduces edge thickness and weight by as much as approximately 30%.  Ideal for lenses that have thicker edges.  Non-glare coating is recommended.

Aspheric- Reduces thickness and distortion, and increases peripheral vision.  Ideal for lenses that are thicker in the center.

Polycarbonate- Made of shatter resistant material and ideal for young or active patients.  Scratch resistant coating and UV400 is included.  Recommended for all glasses used for sports or recreation.

Glass-  Heaviest lens material which is more susceptible to breakage but resistant to scratching.

Progressive Bifocals- (No Line) These lenses give wearers more natural vision at all distances with no annoying bifocal lines.  Our office uses the best quality lenses available.

Transitions- Plastic lenses that change darker or lighter as conditions change.  Great for people who are sensitive to light and work outside and indoors.   Direct UV exposure is required for optimal activation and tint changes

Photogrey- Glass lenses that are comparable to Transitions.  UV400 is included.

Tint- Reduces sensitivity to light and is available in many different colors and shades.

SRC- Best quality Scratch Resistant Coating which helps protect against fine scratches that will occur on lenses over time.

Non-Glare- This coating will reduce glare and reflections that impair vision and clarity.  Especially beneficial for computer users and driving and overall makes your vision more comfortable.   Our office offers the highest quality non glare available.

UV400-  Filters out harmful ultraviolet light which may cause cataracts and is recommended for everyone.  Sunscreen for the eyes!

Polarization-  Reduces the blinding “hot spots” and “visual noise” we call glare when light strikes a flat, smooth or shiny surface.  Provides for unmatched visual acuity, comfort, protection and contrast in a premium sunglass.
